Mugen Rao (born 20 October 1995) is a Malaysian-Indian playback singer, songwriter and actor. Appearing Predominantly in Tamil films, he was also listed by the Chennai Times as one of the Chennai Times 30 Most Desirable Men 2020, ranking him as 21th in rank/position. Mugen Rao, professionally known as MGR, is born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He stepped onto the entertainment platform with a Malaysian-Indian film called Ghora, as his cinematic debut in 2018 and later into the Kollywood film industry, with Vettri (2021) playing the. lead title role. Mugen has also released several non-film albums and took part in Big Boss Tamil 3 (2019) in which he emerged as the winner of the reality show.

Mugen Rao Family and Education
Born to Prakash Rao & Nirmala Devi, he has Vignesh Rao and Janani Rao as his siblings. He holds Malaysian Nationality as he was born in a middle-class family in Malaysia and is also a firm believer of Hinduism at heart. In the initial days, Mugen Rao started his stage career at 9 and his father overcame the difficulties in their financial life. By the time of 12, he gave nearly 50 stage performances by then. His uncle Satish Rao helped him get into a Malay Show dubbed Senandug Malam. Both his father (stage singer) and his brother are popular in the Tamil Entertainment industry. Mugen Rao Songs and Early Film Career
Even though he discovered his passion for music in his early childhood, he established himself as a musician cum director with the song Kayalvizhi, released in 2016. People well knew him for his appearance in the television drama Nee Yaar (2019), telecasted on TV2 and Malaysian films Haran (2018) and Venpa (2019). He also won the ‘Best TV Drama Actor in 2019 and acted in several Malaysian dramas such as Sugamaana Sumaigal (2018), Agam Puram (2017) and Ippadiyum Pannalama (2016). Being a host for the travel show KL to KA, Mugen has also been in short movies named Deepavali Special and Light Up Someone’s Life. Apart from all this, he has also appeared in various TV Commercials and in 2019, also emerged as the title winner award of the Big Boss Tamil 3 on Star Vijay, an entertainment show hosted by Kamal Hassan which gave him a huge fanbase over social media. Kayalvizhi, Anbe Aaruyire, Pogiren, Abinaya, Maya, Yengaddi Sathiyama and Thedinen are some of his vocals released under the banner of IBP studios in Malaysia. He has also collaborated with many talented artists across the world, such as Asuran fame TeeJay Arunachalam for the video Bandana (Vol 1), a UK Singer and later became a part of vocals in Dr. Kamal Hassan’s Arivum Anbum music composed by Ghibran.
